ISO 14001- Environmental Management Systems

The products or services delivered by organisations and the numerous operations around it,  inevitably leave an environmental foot print. The ISO 14001 standard is the most popularly used  standard to help organisations holistically identify the aspects of their business that create significant environmental impacts and establish the policies and arrangements required to control as much as it's reasonably possible the impacts made. Management systems processes that have been established also serve to reinforce the arrangements for environmental controls detailed in this standard.

ISO 45001- Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems

This new standard takes over from OHSAS18001 and provides the framework to help organisations  manage occupational health and safety through a management systems approach. Establishing the potential hazards and analysing the risks and putting in place the required controls based on a process driven model is central to ISO 45001. the core technical controls are supported by the established management systems controls as in other management systems.

ISO 22000- Food Safety Management Systems

This standard is the only food safety management systems standards that truly covers the entire food supply chain and every player allied to it. The core of the standard establishes HACCP as the core methodology for the control of food safety hazards . ISO 22000 however has its own interesting twist on the traditional HACCP. A prerequisite programme document that is sub-sector specific eg. good hygiene practices for transportation/storage/manufacturing etc. is expected to be identified, defined and implemented and inculcated to maintain the integrity of the standard for the stated positioning of the organisation within the food supply chain. Core principles of management systems support the additional technical requirements spelled out in this standard.
