This standard is the only food safety management systems standards that truly covers the entire food supply chain and every player allied to it. The core of the standard establishes HACCP as the core methodology for the control of food safety hazards . ISO 22000 however has its own interesting twist on the traditional HACCP. A prerequisite programme document that is sub-sector specific eg. good hygiene practices for transportation/storage/manufacturing etc. is expected to be identified, defined and implemented and inculcated to maintain the integrity of the standard for the stated positioning of the organisation within the food supply chain.
